At Steelbodywork, we are a family-owned and operated auto repair shop based in San Antonio, Texas. Our story began when Roger and Nadin Suppiger, both passionate about classic cars and entrepreneurship, made the bold decision to leave their successful full-body repair and motorcycle business in Zurich, Switzerland behind. The European emission standards were making it increasingly difficult for their classic and custom car, motorcycle, and chopper customers to find suitable parts, leading to many of them selling their beloved vehicles. Roger and Nadine did not want to sell their 1968 customized Dodge Charger, nor did they want to focus their entire business on daily drivers. They decided to take the plunge and move to the United States to pursue their American Dream.
After more than 30 years in business, Roger and Nadine sold their shop and moved to the US in search of a new opportunity. They purchased Kayser Automotive in August 2019 and rebranded it as Steelbodywork. Steelbodywork is an independent, auto repair garage, and complete body and paint shop. We work on everyday cars and trucks, as well as classic and customized vehicles. Our team of experts provides full vehicle maintenance services and collision repair on cars from everywhere in the world, as well as Europe, Asia, and beyond.
As a fully certified Master Autobody Specialist, Mechanic, and Airconditioning Specialist, Roger brings his extensive expertise to the table. Additionally, he is fully certified as an Automotive Master Teacher, ensuring that our team is trained to the highest standards.
